The year 7’s went to The Outward Bound Trust. The Outward Bound is an educational charity that uses the outdoors to help develop young people from all walks of life. It helps them learn new skills such as; setting and achieving goals, listening and communicating effectively, facing challenges with determination, cooperation and collaboration, maintaining a positive outlook, even when things get tough, effective leadership skills and building relationships.
Some activities involved jog and dip, steam boat trip, hiking, camp craft, canoeing and gorge walking.
The students absolutely loved their time at The Outward Bound Ullswater centre, and since coming back to the academy the students have most definitely implemented their new skills into their education.
